Micro Businesses
These are home based businesses that are not registered for GST. Examples could include artists, caterers, writers, secretarial services, baby sitters or people looking to re-join the workforce who believe that the Chamber of Commerce may provide networking opportunities for them. The business activities of these members will not necessarily be their major focus in life.

Commercial Businesses
These are businesses in Pearl Beach and Patonga that operate from commercial premises. Examples include Pearls on The Beach, Pearl Beach Real Estate, The Pearl Beach General Store & Café, The Patonga General Store, and The Patonga Tavern. The owners of commercial properties (not holiday rental) in Pearl Beach and Patonga will also fall under this classification.

Trades and Services
These are businesses that provide building, design, architectural, painting, pluming, electrical, gardening, and handyman services to residents and commercial businesses in Pearl Beach and Patonga. Pearl Beach and Patonga may not be their only market but it will be a significant focus for their business. In most cases they will be businesses registered for GST, and providing a specific service will be their major source of income.

Professional and Ventures
These members will be company employed, members of a partnership, or business owners. The majority of their business income will be derived from outside Pearl Beach or Patonga. However the networking opportunities that arise from the Chamber of Commerce will be attractive to them.

Rental Property Owners
A self-explanatory description. This group of members own houses in Pearl Beach and Patonga that they rent as holiday or long term letting's. This group of members would see the chamber as a way to gain referrals for their letting's and as a network for services in the upkeep of their properties.

Mentors
This category of members will not be seeking commercial benefit from their membership. They may be retired, they may be for example a medical specialist, or they may be involved in a very specialized business that would have no direct application to the Pearl Beach and Patonga community. They however have some business skills and perhaps contacts that could be useful to other members of Chamber.

If a member could clearly be categorised as belonging to more than one class of membership they pay the fee for the highest class. For example, if a member runs a micro business and owns a rental property they would pay $65.00.
